You have to be kidding, I just found out today, via the local IRS Office, that since I used tax software to file my taxes, e-filed them and requested direct deposit I would not be receiving my Economic Stimulus Check as expected. In fact, the IRS has no date set for when I may get a paper check but it is sometime after everyone else gets the paper checks. This will affect everyone who had the software deducted from their refund including tax preparers who used the online filing and had their fees deducted as well! What a joke, the people who file their own taxes using software are usually the people who need this check the most. I for one, cannot afford a CPA and e-filing through tax software is the most economical way of doing my tax and making sure that it is an accurate return. To the wealthy populous, this stimulus check means a trip to Abercrombie & Fitch or Williams Sonoma but to most of us who are not affluent, it meant paying off bills, stocking the fridge, and getting repairs done. Nice try congress, for most of us its going to be to little too late!
